This study focuses on the Dankanongba glacial lake in Bomi, Tibet. Through methods such as remote sensing interpretation, field investigation, regional geomorphological feature analogy, and numerical simulation, the development characteristics of the lake, glacier snow zones, flow formation areas, and accumulation zones in the catchment were identified. The study also proposes that Dankanongba has the conditions for a potential glacial lake outburst and reveals that high-altitude ice avalanches, glacier surges, and snow avalanches are the primary triggering factors for such events. The risk of GLOF was simulated and evaluated using the HEC-RAS model. The results show that a complete breach of the glacial lake would generate a peak discharge of 3.68 × 10 3 m 3 ·s -1 . The flood’s progression would directly erode and threaten 10 households along the Parlung Tsangpo River.
