This review paper attempts to conceptualize the issue of food security within the framework of International Relations by focussing on India’s emerging role as a provider of resilient and sustainable global food systems. The paper tries to analyse the shift of food as an issue from development and agricultural sector-centric to its current status as a strategic good linked to statecraft, geopolitics, economic interdependence, and national security. The Paper analyse the Russia-Ukraine war, climate disasters, export bans, and disruptions in energy, fertilizers, and maritime logistics, as factors that have reshaped global food security. In its first part, the paper looks at India’s food security situation, including agricultural production, public distribution, food availability, climate change, groundwater depletion, and malnutrition. However, the second part focusses on India’s use of its emerging status as a global food provider in its geopolitical strategies and examines India’s food diplomacy in G20 and South-South partnerships. The study contends that India can play a pivotal role in building strategic food security through a combination of diversified production, climate-smart agriculture, sustainable groundwater management, digitalization of agriculture, reduction of food loss and waste, and trade for food security to build resilient food systems both within and outside the country. The paper recommends that India’s future role in global food security discourse moves beyond being a food bowl for others to engage in food diplomacy to shape global food governance to make international food systems more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable.","在武装冲突、气候变化、贸易限制、供应链中断、资源稀缺以及粮食价格波动威胁全球粮食体系的背景下，粮食安全问题重新获得了地缘政治意义。 ,null,"Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research)","2026-09-26T00:00:00Z","论文",40,false,80
"https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.22974818
"W7214429511",[45
Surjit Singh
6,[59,103,140,178,212,258
3546,"When Winters Fail: How Warming Winters Fuel Pest Resurgence and Threaten Food Security","https://doi.org/10.1002/pei3.70216","ABSTRACT The Mediterranean fruit fly ( Ceratitis capitata , Wiedemann; Diptera: Tephritidae), commonly known as the Medfly, re‐emerged in Mazandaran province, northern Iran—home to an estimated 25% of the nation's fruit crops and approximately 80% of its citrus production—following its apparent eradication in 1984, an outcome consistent with several years of pheromone‐trap surveillance without further captures. Its return in 2006 and subsequent spread is consistent with a broader phenomenon we term the erosion of climatic pest barriers: seasonal thermal conditions that have historically suppressed or excluded pest populations, and which appear to be weakening as winters warm. Warming may facilitate Medfly persistence by relaxing overwintering limitation, although reinvasion pressure, host availability, fruit movement, and surveillance and management practices likely also contribute. In Mazandaran, growers report substantial on‐tree citrus losses during heavy infestation years, and pest‐induced fruit wounding may provide infection courts for common postharvest fungal pathogens, compounding losses for smallholder producers. Current management relies heavily on organophosphate insecticides, particularly malathion, whose hazard classification and associated risks are well documented, even though realized exposure‐related risk in practice depends on application conditions. We situate the Mazandaran case within a broader global pattern of climate‐associated pest range expansion and weakened biological control, and argue that resilience‐based alternatives—including the Sterile Insect Technique, entomopathogenic agents, and threshold‐guided digital monitoring, embedded within climate‐smart agriculture frameworks—offer a technically proven, though not yet regionally established, pathway forward. We propose that climatic pest barriers merit recognition as an ecosystem service whose erosion under warming carries implications for temperate agricultural systems beyond this case.","地中海实蝇（Ceratitis capitata，Wiedemann；双翅目：实蝇科），俗称地中海果蝇，在1984年明显被根除后，重新出现在伊朗北部的马赞德兰省——该省估计占全国水果作物的25%和柑橘产量的约80%——这一根除结果与多年信息素诱捕监测未再捕获到该虫的情况一致。 ,"Plant-Environment Interactions","2026-09-24T00:00:00Z",10,78
"W7214309725",[87,90,92,94
Mostafa Farajpour","https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4223-502X
Shahab Mirinejad
Mitra Moezipour
Mohammad Sadat‐Hosseini
,"2026-09-26T23:30:12.754871Z
3466,"Socio-Economic Impact of Climate-Smart Agricultural Techniques. This study assesses the socio-economic impact of Climate Smart Agricultural Techniques in Kayonza District, a case of KOTWIDIKA Cooperative, a region vulnerable to climate variability and highly dependent on agriculture. The research focused on the chosen cooperative members through stratified random sampling from 845 farmers, with an additional interview conducted with 8 cooperative leaders and 7 additional key stakeholders. Data were collected using structured questionnaires, key informant interviews, focus group discussions and field observations. A mixed-methods approach incorporating both quantitative and qualitative data was used to assess the effectiveness of CSA techniques on agricultural productivity and the relationship between CSA practices and socio-economic development. The research evaluated the CSA adoption rates, income, food security, and community health. The Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 31.0 was used to perform Statistical analyses for quantitative data, including correlation and regression analyses to evaluate the relationships between variables, while qualitative data were examined through thematic analysis. The research found that the adoption of CSA techniques led to significant increases in income (15-22%), improved food security, and enhanced psychological well-being among members. The analysis revealed a strong statistical relationship between CSA adoption and improved livelihoods, supported by regression results (R = 0.991, R² = 0.982) and a correlation coefficient of 0.985, affirming the efficacy of these methods in promoting community resilience. The study concludes that CSA practices greatly enhance socio-economic conditions for KOTWIDIKA Cooperative members. Increased temperatures, sporadic rainfall, and higher levels of CO2 emissions threaten food security as well as the livelihoods in rural areas. While global studies discuss these issues, there is a lack of empirical research on Somalia. This research attempts to study the gap created by the absence of research regarding the vulnerability of crop production to climate change and its sustainable agriculture aspects. The study uses a vector error correction model (VECM) to evaluate how climate factors, including temperature, rainfall, CO2 emissions, land designated for agriculture, and labour, affect crop production in the short and long term. The study found that CO₂, temperature, and rainfall lead to boosted crop production in the short term because of the traditional adaptation strategies employed by farmers. In the long term, a 1% increase in CO2 emissions leads to a 57% reduction in crop production, and a similar rise in temperature causes production levels to fall over 100%. Rainfall, agricultural land, and labour continue to positively influence production levels in both periods. These results strongly indicate the necessity of climate-resilient strategies, better irrigation systems, and new forms of farming. The promotion of climate-smart agriculture will help mitigate the negative effects of climate change on the agricultural sector of Somalia while simultaneously catering to the issue of food security.","索马里作物生产易受气候变化影响，因为农业高度依赖降雨。 ,"AgEcon Search (University of Minnesota, USA)",71
191,31,33,192,193],"农业遥感","灌溉系统","索马里农业",[195,196],"索马里 作物生产 气候变化","VECM 气候智慧农业","索马里作物生产气候变化-3058","10.22004/ag.econ.412749
"W7213772032",[202,204
Mohamed Nur Abdulkadir
Yassin Sheikh Ali Ali
,"2026-09-21T23:30:09.204353Z
2772,"Analysis of Climate‑Smart Agriculture (CSA) Adoption Level on Tidal Land and Its Effect on Household Food Security","https://doi.org/10.22004/ag.econ.410358","Climate change is a universal challenge for all those natural resource-based sectors, including agriculture. The adoption rate of CSA technology, i.e., tractors, water pumps, drainage, direct seeding planting, and combined harvesters, positively influences food security.","气候变化是所有以自然资源为基础的部门（包括农业）面临的普遍挑战。
31,33,227,228,229],"技术采纳","水稻种植","盐沼地",[231,232],"气候智慧农业 技术采纳 水稻种植 粮食安全","气候智慧农业 技术采纳","气候智慧农业技术采纳水稻种植粮食安全-2772","10.22004/ag.econ.410358
"W7213409702",[238,240,242,244,246,248,250
Yamin M.
Wahyu Swasdiningrum Putri Trisna
Dwi Saputri Salsabilah
Firdha Tafarini Meitry
Ayu Sulastri Merna
Damayanthy Dini
Ramadani Andelia Siti
,"2026-09-17T23:30:13.841443Z
2769,"Climate change impacts and resilience pathways in somalia through a systematic review","https://doi.org/10.1007/s42452-026-09538-5","Somalia is among the most climate-vulnerable countries worldwide, characterized by predominantly arid and semi-arid regions increasingly affected by recurrent droughts, irregular precipitation, rising temperatures, land degradation, and water scarcity, all of which compromise livelihoods, food security, and socio-economic stability. This study addresses the limited synthesis of recent, spatially explicit evidence on climate change impacts in Somalia by bringing together current literature and institutional reports to analyze the effects of climate change and identify adaptation and resilience strategies The review is entirely desk-based and utilizes 30 secondary data articles from reputable sources such as FAO-SWALIM, the World Bank, ICPAC, FSNAU, USAID, and peer-reviewed research articles from Scopus and web of science published from 2008 to 2025. The results showed that over 60% of Somalia’s territory is categorized as arid or hyper-arid, with the southern parts seeing the most acute soil erosion and environmental deterioration. Significant drought occurrences, especially in 2010–2011 and 2016–2017, were greatly impacted by extensive climatic factors including ENSO and the Indian Ocean Dipole. Climate variability has resulted in reduced crop yields, pasture degradation, livestock mortality, persistent water shortages, and extensive food insecurity, while inadequate governance, restricted climate financing, and deficient early-warning and monitoring systems hinder effective adaptation. The review emphasizes that climate change presents a systemic threat to Somalia’s environmental and livelihood systems, highlighting the necessity for integrated, spatially informed strategies that incorporate GIS-based environmental monitoring, sustainable land and water management, climate-smart agriculture, strengthened institutions, and enhanced access to climate finance to support long-term resilience and sustainable development.","索马里是全球最易受气候变化影响的国家之一，其国土以干旱和半干旱地区为主，日益受到反复出现的干旱、降水不规律、气温上升、土地退化及水资源短缺的影响，这些问题共同威胁着生计、粮食安全和社会经济稳定。 ,"Discover Applied Sciences",76
"W7213257664",[282,284,286,289
Abdiaziz Hassan Nur
Mohamed Osman Abdulkadir
Omar Ali","https://orcid.org/0009-0001-3009-1850
Ahmed Sodal Asir
,"2026-09-17T23:30:10.557669Z"]
