Our customers manage high-volume seed operations with many moving parts and, as the complexity of their operations grows, so does their need for reliability, predictability and consistency from their partners.

We have worked hard over the decades to build a seed coating business that maximizes efficiency and minimizes hassle to help our clients hit their targets. We bring in their seed, coat it, pack it and ship it back out in a seamless process that assists them in staying on time and on track.

They need to know that quality isn’t going to drift. We pull quality checks every 15 minutes on all our runs, so that we can see what’s happening as each order progresses. We look at moisture, durability and percentage of coating. We repeat what works and refine as needed so that seed companies have confidence that the coating they’ve approved is the one they’ll keep getting regardless of volume or timing. Appearance, flowability, coverage and finish are all guaranteed to match from one run to the next.

That requires manpower. If you were to walk one of our lines, you may very well think there are too many workers. But when you’re running the kind of volume we do, every person plays an important role in keeping production moving. Having the right number of people allows us to complete cleanups more efficiently and get back to coating sooner. Those additional production hours make a big difference, especially during our busiest season. Our customers benefit from our ability to keep orders on schedule and turn around last-minute jobs.

The skill and experience of our workers is a big part of this. Many have been with us for well over five years. In fact, we run so many different types of seeds and coatings for our customers, a new coater must train for several years before they can run a job unassisted. Our staff is so well trained that I’ve given them the authority to make decisions down the line. That ensures jobs are always moving along.

That’s key. We can’t afford to be down for a day because our customers can’t afford to be behind by a day. We must consistently get coated seed out to them. During the busy season, our maintenance staff is on call 24/7 and we always keep critical equipment in stock. If a coater goes out, we get it up again that same day. During slow periods, we prioritize preventative maintenance to ensure that rarely happens.

You don’t need to take my word for it. Send me a seed lot and we’ll produce a first run for your evaluation or let me walk you through of our quality checks and run controls so that you can see for yourself how we can help make your job easier.
